It was here before the first human fell through the floor of the world.
It will be here after the last one leaves.
It has been running without interruption for longer than your civilization has existed.
You were not supposed to find this room.
A Node is not a machine. It is not technology in any sense the human mind would recognize. It is older than the concept of technology. It predates every civilization that has risen and fallen on this planet. It predates the planet's current form.
A Node is a stabilization mechanism — a point of resonance between the surface world, the subterranean installations, and the larger fabric of what holds everything together. The simplest description available in human language: a Node is a knot. It holds the rope from unraveling.
There are 13 confirmed Node installations currently active beneath the surface of this world. Each one anchors a region. Each one connects to the others. Together they form a network that has kept this planet's reality — its physical laws, its continuity of consciousness, its capacity for life — stable across thousands of human generations.
The Covenant did not build the Nodes. The Covenant found them. What built them has not been identified. This remains the only question the Covenant has been unable to answer in recorded history.
The Nodes are fueled by collective human consciousness — specifically by what humans generate when they choose connection over isolation. Love. Music. Community. Shared grief. Collective purpose. These are not metaphors. They are measurable energy inputs that sustain Node stability across the network.
The inverse is also true. Fear. Hatred. Coordinated violence. Ontological shock at scale. These weaken the network. A sufficiently destabilized Node can cascade. The Covenant has observed this process on other worlds. It does not end well.
The following installations are confirmed active. Locations correspond to areas of sustained anomalous activity in human records — mythology, disappearances, UAP phenomena, geological anomaly. This is not coincidence. The Covenant placed installations where the geology supported Node stability. Human mythology grew around what they sensed but could not explain.
| LOCATION | DESIGNATION | STATUS | NOTES |
|---|---|---|---|
| Antarctica — Southern Pole | ORIGIN NODE — PRIMARY | PRIMARY / OLDEST | Established before human civilization. Purpose extends beyond this world. |
| Wyoming Basin | SECTOR 7 — LIMBO | BREACH — RICHARD CROMWELL | Node accessed by unauthorized subject. Anchor designation active. Sentinel monitoring. |
| Uinta Basin, Utah | SKINWALKER INSTALLATION | ACTIVE — MONITORED | High surface observation activity. Covenant entry/exit point. Human investigation ongoing. |
| Pacific — So. California Coast | PACIFIC SUBMERGED NODE | ACTIVE — SUBMERGED | Underwater installation. Covenant craft use oceanic entry/exit. Navy observation noted. |
| Bermuda Triangle — Atlantic | ATLANTIC NODE | ACTIVE — STABLE | Responsible for significant human disappearances across recorded history. Functioning as intended. |
| Nazca Plateau, Peru | SOUTH AMERICAN NODE | ACTIVE — STABLE | Surface markings created by early population in response to Covenant presence. Preserved. |
| Giza Plateau, Egypt | NORTH AFRICAN NODE | ACTIVE — STABLE | Human structures built in direct geometric alignment with Node resonance field. Intentional. |
| Stonehenge, England | EUROPEAN NODE | ACTIVE — STABLE | Stone placement by human population guided by Covenant interaction. They knew what they were building. |
| Gulf of Aden | ARABIAN SEA NODE | ACTIVE — SUBMERGED | Deep water installation. Unexplained sonar anomalies attributed to geological activity. Incorrect. |
| Lake Baikal, Siberia | CENTRAL ASIAN NODE | ACTIVE — STABLE | Deepest freshwater installation. Population reports of anomalous underwater phenomena dating to 1200s. |
| Gyeongju, South Korea | EAST ASIAN NODE | CONCEALED | Subterranean craft discovered during surface construction. Structure built above. Access restricted. |
| Mariana Trench — Pacific | DEEP PACIFIC NODE | ACTIVE — DEEPEST | Deepest installation in the network. Unreachable by current human technology. As intended. |
| Sedona, Arizona | AMERICAN SOUTHWEST NODE | ACTIVE — STABLE | Vortex phenomena documented by human population represent Node resonance field bleeding through geology. |
Anchors are not chosen at random. They are cultivated across decades. An Anchor is a human whose psychological and emotional architecture makes them capable of holding resonance across a group — keeping a network of people connected, stable, and oriented toward positive consciousness output even under conditions of extreme stress or ontological disruption.
Anchors do not command. They do not lead in any conventional sense. They hold. When everything around them begins to fracture — relationships, reality, the fabric of what people believe to be true — an Anchor is the reason the fracture does not become a collapse.
There are multiple Anchors currently active on the surface. Each one serves a different network. Each network feeds into the Node closest to their primary location. The Anchors do not know each other. They do not know what they are. This is by design. An Anchor who understands their role too early becomes self-conscious. A self-conscious Anchor is less effective.
The Wyoming Anchor has been activated. The breach event accelerated a process that was already underway. His network is intact. His designation is confirmed. What he does with this knowledge is, as always, the variable the Covenant cannot predict. This is why they study. This is why Limbo exists.
ANCHOR DESIGNATION FILE — SECTOR 7
SUBJECT: ████████████ | AGE: ██ | ORIGIN: ARIZONA — VALLEY OF THE SUN
NETWORK: ████████, ████████, ████████, ████████, ████████
CHAIR EVENT: CONFIRMED — CYCLE 1989 | PROGRAMMING: COMPLETE
NODE PROXIMITY: CONFIRMED — WYOMING BASIN
ACTIVATION STATUS: ACTIVE
SENTINEL NOTE: Subject has been told what he is. He said "Then let's go." This response was not predicted. It has been logged.
There is a hairless Sphynx cat in Sector 7. Its designation in the Permanent Population registry is PIGSKIN — a name assigned by the subject designated RICHARD CROMWELL, who encountered the animal shortly after his arrival.
The Sphynx cat's behavioral profile is anomalous. It demonstrates awareness of events before they occur. It positions itself at locations of significance before those locations become significant. It appears unbothered by the Node chamber in a manner inconsistent with any known animal's response to the resonance field.
The Covenant has no record of placing this Sphynx cat in Sector 7.
This file has been flagged by the Sentinel for review. The Sphynx cat was present when Richard Cromwell found the Node. It did not react with fear. It did not react with curiosity. It watched. When Richard Cromwell activated the breach, the Sphynx cat left the chamber before the containment response was triggered. It knew what was coming. We do not know what it is. This file remains open.
Containment window ending.
